today was a really off day for me. I woke up late for work because I thought I started an hour later. I rushed to get ready and made the bus on time thank god. I was front of house today and it was extremely slow. Of course my very first transaction was a complicated return I wasn't sure what to do so I called a coordinator and a manager also happened to be walking by, and it was the same manager that showed me how to do something the day before. Basically I think they think I'm incompetent but I really just like to double check and ask if I'm not sure about something which I thought was a good thing. On my first break I put in an ER (Early Release) request to get off at 8:15 instead of 10:15. It got approved thank god because my original shift was 10.5 hours which is a little too long for me. After my break I got switched to a different room, the Magic room which is basically all picture frames, figurines, snow globes, etc. It was pretty boring in there until I got this one lady who had like 5 baskets full of stuff. She was extremely rude to me, I thought we were in Disney World lady put a smile on. She had a million of these Halloween Ornaments and I guess she was one short because she thought she had counted out 10. I politely offered to get another one sent down to her and called the stock room, she smarted back to me "ya and tell them to send more the shelf is empty" well really lady, you just bought them all and who even buys Halloween Ornaments. While I was waiting I tried to make small talk to fill the awkward silence and asked what the ornaments were for, she told me "just to break them all". So that was the end of that conversation I finished ringing her up and politely told her thank you and to have a nice day, she smarted back with "Have a magical day". Thanks lady you sure made my day magical. At this point I had my last break and only had 2 hours left. Thankfully the next room I was in I worked with a guy who was really nice and also a trainer so I had someone to ask questions too. For some reason the weirdest people are just drawn to me. I got a guy who only spoke spanish, asked me if I spoke spanish and I said no but would just go off in spanish and I just stared back with a blank look. I give the "one moment finger" and frantically run around asking if anyone speaks spanish. Basically he wanted to tell me he was ready to make his purchase but he would be right back. There was no line so I said sure no problem and started ringing up a few keychains, he comes back with handfuls of more keychains and leaves again. In the end he purchased over $1,200 in keychains and one Rapunzel Barbie. By this point its the end of my shift and thank god. I treated myself to a cupcake from the bakery next door and went home.

To end the night I went hot tubbing with a beer with my roommate. Overall a long and tiring day, but the cupcake and beer seemed to make it all right.
